A Fresh Start

Our Newly Refurbished Counselling Premises

At Guernsey Counselling Service, we believe the environment plays a vital role in the therapeutic process. Earlier this year, thanks to the incredible generosity of Build for Good—a not-for-profit initiative by The Drawing Room and Rihoy & Son—our premises were completely refurbished. The result is a space that truly reflects our values of care, professionalism, and support.

Our new premises provide a beautiful therapeutic space for clients. It’s warm and cosy, while being stylish and professional. This transformation has made a significant difference—not only for our counsellors but for the people we support every day.

Here’s what a few of our counsellors have to say:

“Having the new GCS Centre has made such a difference to my practice as a student counsellor. Having the right setting for seeing clients makes a big difference to sessions. The rooms are very welcoming, making counsellors and clients feel at ease. It's important for people to feel comfortable and having these new rooms has made it easier to create the right atmosphere for this work.”

“It’s made a significant difference for me as a counsellor, and in turn has helped my clients to feel safe and comfortable. I love coming to work here and can see how much this has supported the work we do.”

“The new rooms feel so much more inviting. Clients often comment on how calm and comfortable the space feels—it really helps them relax and open up.”

“We are so pleased to have premises that we can call our own. The ‘Build for Good’ project, initiated by The Drawing Room, has been fantastic and the transformation from start to finish is amazing. Everyone involved was so helpful and accommodating—a truly wonderful experience.”

“Our new home has a great ambience; it is attractive, calm, welcoming and restful, an extremely pleasant space within which people can feel safe.”

This refurbishment is more than a facelift—it’s an investment in wellbeing. Every detail was designed with care, creating an environment where people feel valued and supported. We are deeply grateful to Build for Good, Rihoy & Son, and The Drawing Room for making this possible.
