Relaxation of borders: Guidance for face to face counselling for clients

Bright natural dining room nook with vases plates and fruits on the table.

With the relaxation of border restrictions, Guernsey Counselling Service (GCS) recognise that there is still a need for us to be vigilant and mindful of the possibility of a rise in Covid numbers.

Therefore, an awareness of social distancing and hygiene will be kept.

If you or a member of your family plan to travel, please tell your counsellor. Equally, your counsellor will tell you of their plans to travel.

  • GCS counsellors will continue to keep a record of those who have attended the counselling rooms, in the event that someone reports becoming unwell or a case of Covid-19 is linked to the premises. In order to facilitate this, your counsellor will still keep a record of your name, telephone number and date of your appointment in case this information is needed.

  • Under no circumstances should you attend your counselling session if you feel unwell or exhibit any of the symptoms for Covid-19 included on the SOG website.

  • It is essential that you contact your counsellor promptly if you become unwell or test positive for Covid-19 at any time in between sessions.

  • Hand sanitiser will be available in the counselling room if you wish to use it.

  • Dettol surface cleaner and paper roll will also continue to be available in the counselling room and may be used to wipe down any surfaces or items that have been touched.
